About the USGBC Massachusetts Chapter

Thank you for coming to the USGBC MA Chapter! We are a vibrant community of green building professionals, students, and enthusiasts in general!

How to become involved:

We are a broad group, advocating for green buildings at the state and local policy level. We also push green buildings in the general real estate sector, promoting market adoption of sustainable design. Please take some time to check us out here at this site. You can also find us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

We want to build our base - and grow our power. If you've come across this page, you are probably interested in green buildings. We want you to be a part of our community. The more we are, the more power we have to affect the evolution of green buildings in Massachusetts and beyond. Join us!

The mission of the Chapter is to promote the design, construction, and operation of sustainable buildings and communities in Massachusetts through education, collaboration, and advocacy, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.

One of the goals of the Chapter is to be inclusive of the entire state, and to reach out to the world of design, construction, and development to engage as many as possible who share our passion for sustainability. The road to this point began in 2008 when The USGBC MA Membership Forum was formed with the support of The Green Roundtable/NEXUS. On Sept. 20, 2009, the organization incorporated as a Chapter of the USGBC, due to the efforts of many dedicated members and the Board of Directors as well as support from USGBC and NEXUS.

The USGBC MA Chapter provides engaging and transformative education, networking, advocacy and leadership opportunities for the sustainable building community and beyond. Our events and programming is supported by the volunteer efforts of our community members. We encourage participation from the green building industry and beyond in helping us achieve our mission.
