The US Green Building Council organizes the national chapter network into eight regions as seen below. Regional Committees exist to support and strengthen the chapters, as well as build stronger network of resources and relationships.

The Upper Northeast Regional Committee is a structure for leadership development and initiative-driven work. The UNRC is a representative body responsible for both escalating the interests of individual chapters within our region, as well as a forum for best-practice sharing for delivery back to the seven chapters that comprise the Upper Northeast region which includes chapters from Maine, Upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. It will function to organize initiative-based working groups across the country that complement the objectives of the USGBC National Strategic Plan, as well as promote the grassroots priorities of the chapter community. Each Chapter is represented by two people on the Regional Committee who sit in the Representative role and the Associate role.

The Upper Northeast Regional Committee holds monthly calls and meets face to face approximately twice a year. At our last face to face meeting we started a strategic plan for the region and established our vision inline with USGBC: Buildings and Communities will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of all life within a generation.
These goals of the plan will be developed and moved forward through a number of working groups. Each working group is headed by a Regional Committee member, but Chapter members are welcomed and encouraged to participate on the working groups.
Please contact Bob if you would like to participate on a working group or have any questions or comments.
